We're introducing a new scheme for trusted flaggers. In all its simplicity, this means that we give the opportunity to relevant authorities to take faster action, which means that Punktum dk can intervene faster against misuse of .dk domains.
Why do we do it?
The Internet and criminal methods are constantly evolving. By giving this mandate to trusted flaggers, we can respond proactively and accurately when illegalities are detected.
Legal certainty is still at the top of the agenda
Even if we increase the speed, we do not compromise on legal certainty. "It is crucial for us that any intervention is proportionate. You should not close an entire domain if it is sufficient to remove a specific subpage," explains CEO, Jakob Bring Truelsen.
Punktum dk imposes four requirements on the trusted flaggers
To be a trusted flagger, you must:
- Be a government agency
- Be able to make administrative decisions
- Assume full legal responsibility for the assessment
- Have a formal written agreement with Punktum dk
The scheme will enter into force on 1 July 2026. In the coming months, we will invite relevant authorities to a hearing to ensure that we get the best workflows in place from the start.
Any misuse of a .dk domain name is one too many.
We look forward to strengthening the collaboration on a secure Danish internet.
