The agreement

The agreement is the agreement entered into between Punktum dk and the registrant about the right of use to a .dk domain name. When entering into the agreement, the registrant accepts the terms and conditions for the right of use to a .dk domain name.

Applicant An applicant is a legal or natural person who submits an application for a domain name. An applicant can only be considered for the right of use to a domain name that is not already registered.
Application An application for a domain name is the request to Punktum dk via the registrar or the waiting list about the right of use to a .dk domain name.
Authoritative name servers An authoritative name server holds the authoritative copy of the zone file for the domain it is authoritative for.
Billing contact A billing contact is the natural or legal person appointed by the registrant to manage all payments relating to the domain name.
Blocking Blocking of a domain name means that the domain name is transferred to the party who has blocked the domain name in accordance with Punktum dk’s Terms and Conditions. Name servers are not connected to the domain name which is thereby blocked from use. A domain fee is not paid for the domain name.
Right of use Right of use means the right to use a .dk domain name. You obtain the right of use by entering into an agreement about the right of use with Punktum dk
DIFO DIFO is short for Danish Internet Forum. The Danish Business Authority have granted DIFO the permission to be registry for the .dk domain names.
.dk domain name A .dk domain name is a second-level domain name under the .dk top-level domain, e.g. dr.dk or dsb.dk.
Domain name A domain name is the linguistic alias to an IP address.
DNS Domain Name System is a hierarchical decentralized naming system for computers, services, or other resources connected to the Internet.
DNSSEC DNSSEC is short for Domain Name System Security Extensions. DNSSEC is a security measure which enables verification of the correctness of the response to a DNS query.
Danish Domain Names Act The Domain Names Act is Danish Act no. 164 of 26 February 2014 on Internet Domains.
Electronic identification Electronic identification is any digital control to which a registrant or an applicant is subject to in order to verify his or her contact information and identity to Punktum dk.
Proxy A proxy is the natural or legal person to whom the registrant gives the authority to handle transactions for implementation by Punktum dk in accordance with the terms and conditions defined by Punktum dk for the proxy relationship.
Restoration Restoration means that suspension of a domain name is cancelled so that the domain name is active again.
Danish Complaints Board for Domain Names The Danish Complaints Board for Domain Names is the independent complaints board that settles disputes regarding .dk domain names. Learn more at www.domaeneklager.dk
Contact information Contact information is name, address, email address and telephone number. Legal persons with a Danish business registration number (CVR number) must also add their CVR number.
Name server A name server provides answers to queries against a directory service and is most often used for translating easy to remember domain names to IP addresses of the corresponding web server.
Name server manager A name server manager is the natural or legal person who has control over the name servers to which a domain name is connected.
Name service The name service is running on one or more name servers.
Key proxy The key proxy is a natural or legal person who handles transactions involving changes to the set-up and content of encryption keys for DNSSEC.
Transfer A transfer occurs when a registrant passes on his or her right of use to a domain name to another natural or legal person.
Domain fee A domain fee is the fee that must be paid in a registration period for the right of use to a domain name.
Punktum dk Punktum dk A/S is an operating company that is 100 % owned by DIFO with the purpose of managing the administration of all .dk domain names.
Registrant A registrant is the natural or legal person who has entered into an agreement with Punktum dk about the right of use to a domain name.
Registrar A registrar is a provider of domain names who applies for the right of use to a .dk domain name on behalf of the registrant.
Registration period The registration period is the period of time for which a domain name is registered
Deletion Deletion of a domain name means that the right of use to the domain name lapses, and that the agreement with Punktum dk is cancelled.
Suspension Suspension of a domain dame means that the domain name is disconnected from name servers and thereby is not active. That means that any website and email addresses associated with the domain name are inactive.
VID contact A VID contact is the natural or legal person to whom the registrant has given the authority to approve or reject certain transactions relating to the domain name for implementation by Punktum dk in accordance with the terms and conditions defined by Punktum dk for the VID service.
Terms and conditions Terms and conditions are the Terms and Conditions for the right of use to a .dk domain name, that define the conditions for obtaining the right of use to a second-level domain name under the .dk domain as well as rights and obligations associated with use of a .dk domain name.
WHOIS database The WHOIS database is Punktum dk’s public database of registered domain names. The database contains the registrant’s and proxy’s name, address, telephone number and user ID, unless these are entitled to anonymity.
