Jakob Bring Truelsen, CEO of Punktum dk, and Hilde Thunem, Managing Director of Norid, sign the mutual agreement
The geopolitical landscape and the digital threat environment are evolving rapidly, placing unprecedented demands on critical digital infrastructure. To address these challenges, Punktum dk, which administers Denmark’s .dk domain, has entered into a new practical cooperation agreement with its Norwegian counterpart, Norid.
The agreement was officially signed during a recent meeting in Berlin and focuses on strengthening the resilience of both organisations’ infrastructure. Under the agreement, Norid will host a DNS name server for Punktum dk in Norway, while Punktum dk will do the same for Norid in Denmark. This ensures that backup copies of the .dk and .no zones are maintained securely across national borders.
Partnerships are key to digital resilience
The foundation of the Danish internet must be strong every day. This requires constant vigilance and ongoing efforts to strengthen resilience. In today’s digital world, enhancing security depends to a large extent on strong and trusted partnerships.
“This initiative significantly strengthens our resilience. None of us is stronger alone, and when it comes to critical infrastructure, it is essential that we work together. The agreement with Norid increases the robustness of one of our most important services: our name servers,” says Jakob Bring Truelsen, CEO of Punktum dk.
A foundation for a closer Nordic alliance
At Punktum dk, the hope is that this concrete step, involving physical servers in Denmark and Norway, will be just the beginning of an even closer regional partnership. The Scandinavian and Nordic community provides a unique foundation for protecting and supporting one another.
“I hope and believe that this partnership can pave the way for even closer local, Scandinavian and Nordic cooperation on supporting one another and our critical infrastructure. Many thanks to Norid and Managing Director Hilde Thunem for taking this important step together with us,” concludes Jakob Bring Truelsen.
Punktum dk administers domain names ending in .dk. We maintain the registry of all .dk domains and work to ensure that the Danish part of the internet is as secure as possible.
